WHAT DO THE EVENTS INVOLVE?
Upon arrival we lead guests through our Cooking Academy, down the stairs past our working basement kitchen and through to the secret supper club dining room. This all adds to the theatre of the occasion – Our guests are invited into the beating heart of our operations, where our chefs host the evening; explaining the theme underpinning the menu, building anticipation about the dishes we have created, and giving a brief explanation of each dish as it is served. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy the experience. All food and wine flights will have been pre-ordered and paid for upon booking. You can order from our drinks menu on the night and anybar bill can be settled as you leave.
HOW DO I BOOK
Our menus typically run for 4-6 weeks on a Friday and Saturday evening. Our menus are available to view online with the available dates listed alongside (include link to page). Once you’ve found a menu you’d like to try or a date you’d like to visit, you simply follow the steps to confirm your booking through our website. Once your order has been placed you will receive confirmation of your booking which will detail everything you need to know in advance of your visit. The cut off for booking a Friday or Saturday evening is 5pm on the Wednesday before the event. Late booking enquiries can be made by contacting us on (provide tel no)
All bookings are for a minimum of 2 people and in multiples of two. This allows us to maximise the use of space in our dining room.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED AND WHERE CAN I PARK?
You’ll find us at 5B Bank Street, Dundee. We’re in the basement of The Dundee Cooking Academy.
We’re positioned right in the heart of Dundee city centre, only a stone’s throw away from The Howff and Overgate Shopping Centre and right next door to our very own, Tayble Deli.
We are a 10 minute walk from the train station, the bus station and also Dundee’s V&A Museum.

WHAT ARE THE START/FINISH TIMES
Start times may vary depending on your booking so please check your booking confirmation.
Finishing times are not set in stone. An estimated running time will be noted within the description of your booking but please check your confirmation email.
This is so we can make the experience more comfortable for everyone and a nice relaxed pace can be achieved, in turn making your experience more enjoyable.
IS THERE A DRESS CODE
We don’t stipulate a rigid dress code, but suggest smart/casual.
IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT FOR THE SUPPER CLUB?
In accordance with our premises licence and the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005, persons aged 16 and 17 will only be permitted whilst under the supervision of a responsible person over the age of 18. Alcohol will only be served to guests aged 18+. We reserve the right to refuse service of alcohol at our discretion.
Persons aged 15 and under are not permitted to attend our events.
DO YOU CATER FOR SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS?
Due to the nature of the service we provide at our Supper Club, all menus are pre-set for each event. With advance notice we can adapt certain dishes to a point. However unless stipulated in advance we cannot alter dishes on the night. All requests must be made in advance and will be confirmed in writing before the event.
We do not offer vegetarian or vegan alternatives, however we do run special vegetarian and vegan events periodically so keep an eye on our website and social media for further information.
Our cooking style means that dairy features heavily in the majority of our dishes. Therefore, unfortunately we cannot provide a lactose free menu.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ATTEND EACH EVENT?
The maximum number of attendees for each Secret Supper Club event is 28. You will be seated appropriately per the number of guests on your booking. We have a secondary dining space that has a capacity for up to 8 persons and can be used for larger group bookings. COVID RESTRICTIONS WILL BE ADHERED TO REDUCING CAPACITY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
CAN I UPGRADE MY VOUCHER?
If for example you have received a tasting menu voucher but fancy upgrading this to include the paired wine flight, then don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team to discuss your options. If you would like to add additional guests to your booking please contact our team to discuss availability.
Vouchers cannot be downgraded or refunded.
CAN I CHANGE MY BOOKING?
We cannot offer refunds once your booking has been made and confirmed. You may gift your booking to a friend or relative so they can attend in your absence. Provide them with a copy of your printed booking confirmation and ask them to bring it along on the day. There is no need to inform us of this change. If you would like to move the date of your booking we will do our utmost to help with this, however we will not accept requests within 14 days of the event.
HOW LONG IS MY VOUCHER VALID FOR?
All vouchers purchased will be valid for 6 months from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated. We cannot extend the validity of vouchers regardless of the reason provided.
The Howff – Secret Supper Club events take place in our basement level with access available only via our stairwell. At this moment in time there is no alternative access to our Supper Club other than our stairwell. Public toilets are on our basement level with access again only available via our stairwell.
DO YOU DO GROUP/PRIVATE BOOKINGS?
It might be a works night out, a family celebration, a stag or hen party, treating potential business clients etc. You name it, we will work it out. Get in touch with our team to discuss all options.(Put link to private bookings page)
WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR THE EVENT?
Details will be noted on your booking confirmation with regards to what time to arrive. DUE TO COVID RESTRICTION WE WILL ASK GUESTS TO ARRIVE AT A CERTAIN TIME TO ALLOW US TO SEAT EVERYONE PER STIPULATED GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES. WE URGE CUSTOMERS TO BE PUNCTUAL IN ORDER NOT TO DELAY THE EVENT. LATE COMERS MAY BE REFUSED ENTRY.
HOWFF@HOME – DELIVERY SERVICE
Due to Covid restrictions preventing us from welcoming guests on to our premises, we have developed the Howff@Home Delivery Service. Our ordering platform is hosted by ZippyD. Terms & Conditions relating to cancellations and refunds are as per ZippyD’s Terms & Conditions of service (Share link).
Our menu lists a range of starters, mains, desserts, sides and wine. Our menu has been carefully considered to allow us to deliver restaurant quality dishes (in keeping with The Secret Supper Clubs in-house offerings) to you in the comfort of your home. Every care is taken to ensure dishes are delivered to you in a presentable manner, however in some cases you may have to decant dishes from delivery packaging to your plate. We understand this may compromise the overall appearance of the final dish. This is outwith our control and we request reasonable understanding of this from all customers.
While every effort is taken to deliver your food to you in a timely fashion, some dishes will decrease in temperature in transit. Where applicable we will provide written instructions of the best method of reheating dishes in your home kitchen should there be the need.
The Howff@Home – Delivery service accepts no liability for issues that arise between collection of orders from our premises and delivery of orders to your address.Where errors are made in the cookery or packing of your order we will do our very best to address the issue(s) as quickly as possible.
